Nathan Whitt - Pictures of
Memories (1995)
Pictures of Memories was recorded in the Winter of 1994-95
and was the one of the first projects produced at John Schwab
Recording on Big Walnut Creek in Columbus Ohio. Nathan actually
slept outside in a teepee for three nights, with 20 degree
temperatures and a foot of snow on the ground. This was his first CD
project and featured him on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, and
congas. |
| The other
fantastic players were Mike Nugen on electric guitar, Molly Pauken
on bass, and Randy "Big Art" Taylor on Drums and percussion. Dave
Egan, the original director of the Recording Workshop, was the
engineer, producer, and did the cover art. All songs were written by
Nathan except for Emotional Day, Hearts on Fire, and Hurt Me which
were written by Executive Producer J. Robin Waddell, also the Lick
Records founder. |

The Nathan Whitt Band - Night
and Day (1997)
Night and Day was recorded in the Summer of 1997 and released
in the Fall to rave reviews. The mood around the studio was very
electric as the early version of the Nathan Whitt Band had taken
shape. With the new addition of Tony McClung on drums and a strong
touring schedule throughout the U.S., the band was turning heads and
making a name for itself. |
| Night and Day
includes the 1998 National Top 40 single 'Shadow Jumpin' and
updated versions of Nathan's earliest signature songs 'Shakespeare
to Go', 'Fly', and 'Pictures of Memories'. This project was the
first to include co-writing by Mike Nugen with 'Shadow Jumpin' and 'Walkin'
being co-written as the Whitt/Nugen team. Night and Day has Nathan
on acoustic guitar, piano, and lead vocals, Mike Nugen on electric
guitar, Molly Pauken on bass, and Tony McClung on drums. It was
recorded and engineered by Joe Viers at John Schwab Recording
Studios, and produced by Mike Nugen and Nathan Whitt with executive
producer J. Robin Waddell. The cover art is by world-renowned artist
William C. Brown. |

Nathan Whitt and Chief's Tale
- Amorphous Mass (2000)
Amorphous Mass was recorded throughout 1999 with the band
Chief's Tale at Bordley Palk's Ridgewater Studios in Dayton Ohio and
was released in 2000. At the time, Chief's Tale was recognized as
"one of America's hottest live bands" in the book Jam Bands by Deane
Reznick, and had already released a few live EP's. |
| Considered a side
project from Nathan's solo work, the Amorphous Mass CD has seven of
Nathan's songs including the year 2000 National Top 40 song
'Charade' and four songs written by Chief's Tale members. Rob
Fugate has the writing credits on 'Bug Song', 'Fad or Phase', and
'4:15 am' and Alex Lusht for 'Albi's Tune'. The band was touring
heavily through 1999 and 2000 and was on a major tour with Blessid
Union of Souls in the summer of 2000. Amorphous Mass was engineered
by Rob Fugate and Bordley Palk and produced by Chief's Tale. The
cover art was designed by world-renowned artist William C. Brown.

Nathan Whitt - The Tale (2003)
The Tale was recorded at John Schwab Recording Studios in just
three days in the Summer of 2002, as Nathan's writing had turned
towards a mostly piano-driven, eclectic mixture of R&B and pop.
After having toured extensively throughout the U.S. from 1995-2001,
he had taken about a year off to write and some of the fruit of his
efforts are shown in the songs on The Tale. |
| Nathan set out to
record his fourth album in seven years with himself on vocals,
acoustic guitar, and piano and an extremely talented band of session
musicians. Rob McNelly (who tours with Delbert McClinton) on
electric guitar, Molly 'the pocket' Pauken on bass, and Trey
'Louisiana' Landry on drums. The Tale is probably the most
critically acclaimed of Nathan's work and also the most technical.
It was engineered by Joe Viers and produced by Joe Viers and Nathan
Whitt with Executive Producer J. Robin Waddell. |

The Nathan Whitt Band -
Combustible (2005)
Combustible was recorded throughout 2004 at John Schwab
Studios, and is slated for release in the Spring of 2005. This is by
far the most air-tight, open-and-shut case for the Nathan Whitt Band
becoming a household name in the U.S. As usual, Nathan is on piano,
organ, acoustic guitar, lead and backing vocals. |
| However, now his
songs have morphed into funky R&B, power pop, with thought-provoking
lyrics and performed by a stellar band. Session extraordinaire,
Chris Skrobot, on electric guitar, Patrick "Fat-Hands" Edwards on
bass, and the incomparable Seth Earnest on drums. This collection of
musicians is bound to turn the music industry on it's ear!
Combustible was recorded and engineered by Joe Viers and produced by
Joe Viers and the Nathan Whitt Band with executive producer J. Robin
Waddell. |
